Visual storytelling has been influenced by films such as James Cameron’s Avatar films, Brad Bird’s The Iron Giant, Zemiecks Cast Away and Kirk DeMicco & Faryn Pearl as Ruby Gillman’s teenage Kraken, while emotional character-driven acting was influenced by films such as Nick Cassavetes’ My Sister’s Keeper, Tony Goldwyn’s The Last Kiss, Nigel Cole’s A Lot Like Love and RJ Cutler’s If I Stay . Sanders and the film’s story lead, Heidi Jo Gilbert, created a beautiful and heartwarming script and story that enhanced Roz and Roz and the film’s story lead; Brightbill, and with a more serious tone than any animated film has ever seen.
